Story 故事
As the playwright was working on stage, the character, eager to become famous, came out to solicit “a female role pertaining to war”.As the playwright was exploring the subject, his ideas traveled across the national border and spanned three thousand years all the way until the present….
The playwright conceived that a group of stage phantoms came across named Wang Hai-Ling who distinguished herself at age 16 by play Yang Jin-Hua in a traditional Banzi opera. Thus, its heritage was preserved during an era blocked by war. As times elapsed. Wang Hai-Ling separated herself from the Yang Jin-Hua stereotype to try out various female protagonists. Not to be given the cold shoulder, Yang Jin-Hua grilled Wang Hai-Ling in hot persuit. Eventually, Yang Jin-Hua learned a secret embedded deep in Wang Hai-Ling’s heart.
劇作家正在寫作中,急著成名的劇中人,跑出來向他索取一個「與戰爭有關的女性角色」。構思的過程,遠兜遠兜,跨越古今中三千年…
劇作家想見了一群精靈,偶爾遇到了一個叫做王海玲的名角。王海玲十六歲以扮演「楊金花掛帥」,一戰成名,甚至因而在一個被戰爭封鎖的特殊時空中,把豫劇的命脈傳承下來。然而,時過境遷,眼看著王海玲寧願嘗試千姿百態的女性角色,卻與「楊金花」漸行漸遠,「楊金花」嚥不下這口氣,對王海玲窮追不捨,最後關頭,終於得知王海玲藏得最深的一樁心事…(摘錄自首演節目單)
Director’s Notes 導演的話
“How to make new creation from tradition" is the subject we have to face right now. How the new creation is comparable to tradition, in addition to test the wisdom of creators, but also take times to run. The performance on the stage, in fact, is the results of producing and training process. How to totally change from inside out or outside in, perseverance probably is the answer. As a modern theatre director, tradition is my ruler, working with respect is my attitude. How to make balance well between modern and tradition, it will take efforts of a whole lifetime. I had thought about this question seriously, and I think I can to do it because I have always been cautious and tough while facing with the art. I am very grateful and still learning.
「戲曲創新」已是一條不歸的活路。新編如何與傳統看齊,除了考驗著創作者的智慧,更需要時間來磨合。舞台上的表現,其實是舞台下產製、訓練過程的結果。如何由內而外或外而內的產生質變,都需要毅力的堅持。身為一個現代戲劇的導演,面對戲曲,「尊重」是我的態度、傳統戲裡的「美感」是我的尺量,如何拿捏現代與傳統美感之間的衡量,要靠一輩子的修養。我認真想過這個問題,我覺得我敢做,是因為面對「藝術」時,我總是戰戰兢兢,「因為思想背景裡有這『惘惘的威脅』。」很感謝,我仍在學習。 (摘錄自首演節目單)
