SHOU-YUO LIU

Graduated from the Department of English, Chinese Culture University and Studied dance at the Laban Centre London for the Graduate School. Since 1987, Shou-Yuo LIU has been working in theatre and experienced in Directing, and Acting till now. He is known for the cross-boundary collaboration works (including Drama, Dance and Chinese Opera) and physical solo dance performance, had been participated in the production of art festivals in Hong Kong, Berlin, and New York.

Has directed works including: Wings of Horses (collaborated with Taiwan Bangzi Opera Company, 2016), Shaman- Working in Progress (Cite Des Arts, Paris), Old Times (by Harold Pinter, in the program of Asian Directors Workshop in Seoul Korea 2015). SHAPDE5.5 – Shou-Yuo Liu, Solo Dance (2014), My Baby Dolls/ 27 Wagons Full of Cotton (in the program of Director Competition of Asia in TOGA Japan, 2014), Women are Renamed (collaborated with Taiwan Bangzi Opera Company, 2013), Where is Mackie? (an adaption from Three Penny Opera By Bertolt Brecht, collaborated with Yi-Sin Taiwanese Opera Company, 2012), Love till the End of the World (dance work with digital technology by Dance Forum Taipei Dance Company, 2012), Touch Me, If You Can (a stage drama by Creative Society Theatre Company, 2009)…etc. His unique style is crossing the boundary of drama, dance and Chinese traditional theatre.

LIU’s works have been selected as one of the United Daily News’ “30 Too-Good-to-Missed 2009 Performances,” and presented with China Times’ “Top 10 Performance Award 1999,” and recognized as containing Best Three Modern Mime in 1993” Philadelphia International festival of Mime and Movement.”  LIU had also been the director of Dance Forum Taipei Dance Company, senior editor of Performing Art Magazine, editor in chief of Performing Art Magazine On Line. And taught performance at many Taiwanese theatre and universities, including School of Theatre and School of Dance, Taipei National University of the Arts.

劉守曜

1987年從事劇場工作迄今,創作與演出資歷豐富。早年以演員為重心,曾參與香港藝術節、柏林Taheles劇場、紐約PS122劇場等國外製作的表演,擁有多年跨領域與國際合作經驗。近年則專注於導演工作,作品橫跨戲劇、舞蹈、戲曲、數位科技領域,跨界、跨領域的風格獨具。

近年作品有:2016年執導台灣豫劇團全本新編戲曲《飛馬行》。2015年於巴黎CITE國際藝術村發表獨舞《薩蠻 – 發展中作品》,並應韓國「首爾劇場導演協會」邀請赴韓參與「亞洲劇場導演工作坊」,執導哈洛品特劇本《今之昔》。2014年發表個人編導獨舞作品《Shapde5.5 - 劉守曜獨舞》,同時參與日本舉辦之亞洲導演競賽導演《我的洋娃娃》(此作於2015年於兩廳院「新點子劇展」正式在台發表);2013年導演台灣豫劇團六十週年大戲《巾幗 華麗緣》,2012年導演一心戲劇團台北藝術節摩登歌仔戲《Mackie 踹共沒?》,2012-2011年與舞蹈空間舞團合作導演結合科技、舞蹈之作《世界末日這天,你會愛誰?》和《窗》;2011年擔任兩廳院台日跨國旗艦製作鈴木忠志《茶花女》副導演、2009年導演創作社劇團舞台劇《愛錯亂》等…。並同時參與新象環境文創中心《遊園驚夢》、創作社劇團《少年金釵男孟母》、金枝演社《山海經》等製作的演出。另曾於1996-2001年創立光之片刻表演會社劇團,執導多部作品。

作品曾獲聯合報2009年度【30大錯過可惜表演節目】、1999年中國時報【十大表演藝術獎】及1993年費城國際默劇節【現代默劇】比賽入選前三名。並曾任舞蹈空間舞團團長、「表演藝術雜誌」資深編輯、「表演藝術網站」主編以及「台北金馬國際影展」國際組、台北藝術節、牛耳藝術經紀公司等單位之節目策劃與執行。策劃過2006台北藝術節「亞洲藝術共同體」單元、「藝果奇花:藝企聚一聚」、「第11屆皇冠藝術節」以及「2004小亞細亞創作人會議」等。

更曾擔任客家電視台、屏風表演班、金枝演社劇團與世新大學大眾傳播學系、台北藝術大學戲劇系、舞蹈系、台灣戲曲學院等國內劇團與大專院校之表演教師。翻譯由表演藝術雜誌社出版之《文化就是身體》,主編《跨越夢想的亞細亞》等書。近年來曾擔任文化部、國家表演藝術中心-兩廳院、國家文藝基金會、台北市文化局…等單位戲劇、舞蹈類之評議委員,以及「牿嶺街劇場營運管理委員會」委員等職。
